Blushers and Highlighting

Blusher

When choosing the right blusher for either you or your client, you can't go wrong with a pink or peach shade just as long as you stick to using lighter shades for fair skin, and the deeper shades for darker skin tones.

The following shades work best with these complexions:
  • Fair skin: stick to pinks, apricots and peachy tones. The lighter the better.
  • Medium skin: browns and roses
  • Tanned skin: deep rose
  • Olive skin: plums, golden browns or deep roses
  • Dark skin: dark bronzes and deep reds
Powder Blush
  • Powder blush is the best type for oily and combo skin
  • For best results apply with a blusher brush
  • Ask your model to smile in order for you to figure out where the ''apple'' of the cheek is. For a natural healthy look apply blush lightly to the apples.
  • If you want more of a blushed look, starting from the indent below the cheekbone, use small upwards strokes to blend the colour out onto the cheek bones from the crease.

Crème Blush
  • Crème blush is best for dry skin.
  • For best results, apply crème blush by gently dab the blush on to your cheeks with your middle finger then blend with the same middle finger and a clean finger. The clean finger will pick up any excess blush.

Rimmel Lasting finish Mono Blusher: Santa Rose 010

I wanted to try out Rimmels Santa Rose Blusher as I have heard a lot of positive feedback from other bloggers and youtubers, and of course they were all right!

This blush by Rimmel is amazing for its mega cheap price at only £3.99. The packaging doesn't do the product any justice as it is quite a simple and small, but the actual product can speak for itself. Highly pigmented with a perfect subtle dose of shimmer, this blush looks amazing on and I have proven that it does last all day!

I struggle to find a perfect shade of blusher for my pale skin, but Santa Rose is a perfect peachy pink shade which gives my pale complexion a lush healthy glow!(image of me wearing the blush)

Highlighter
  • Highlighter is great for making your skin look healthy and radiant.
  • For a natural look use a gold colour highlighter.
  • Apply highlighter with a highlighter brush
  • Focus mainly on the T-section of the face. - The bridge of the nose, above the centre of the lips, above the cheek bones, along the top of the eyebrows and the centre of the chin.

This Wake Me Up highlighter by Rimmel is another great affordable product at just £3.99. You only need to apply a small amount dabbed lightly on with your finger tips to awaken the T section of your face.

This product is easily blendable, light and lasts hours. It is a handbag essential and works wonders on those 'au natural days to give your face that helping glow that we all love.
