PACKAGING
Rimmel’s packaging is generally kept to a minimal without extra unnecessary boxing. The general material used for the containers is a thin cheap plastic, which is cheap to produce to enable a cheap product when being sold to the Target Market. The Lipstick containers tend to have a more interesting design compared to the rest of the products as a woman will generally tend to get her lipstick out more times a day than a mascara or other cosmetic product. The Kate Moss Lipstick packaging has also been designed with her signature to create a unique and presentable feel to it. Rimmel tend to use a lot of colour variety and have made many of their products containers bright and noticeable, which will stand out to their target market (16-35 year old women).
Rimmel’s hero product for 2013 was the Apocalips Lip Lacquer. It’s neither a lipstick nor a gloss, but has been proven to give amazing results. It has the intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced b satin smooth shine. It’s long lasting, non-sticky and moisturising, and comes in 13 different shades. This product glides on perfectly, isn’t too glossy and has just the right amount of shine. It lasts hours and isn’t hard to remove (doesn’t leave that greasy feeling on your lips). It is extremely weightless and perfect for any occasion. The applicator has a little well in the centre that collects the lip lacquer so that you can apply with only one or two dips. This applicator also gives a really easy and clean application enhancing the lip line.
