Evaluation...

This project as a whole has been a really enjoyable one for me. When I first began at Solent in 2010 I was sure that I wanted to be in the prosthetic side of the Make-up industry, although I think I might prefer the Fashion and Beauty side a little more now!

I feel that the images that I have produced have come a long way since first year and the start of second year and I think that I am beginning to find my flare. This project was the first that I have experienced shooting outside on location and although I enjoy working in the studios, I have gained a love for outside photography as the lightness creates some sort of realness to the image. I can see that my photography skills have improved a great deal this term as I have taken all of these final images myself and am really pleased with the composition and angles of them all.

I have thoroughly enjoyed learning more about different Make-up brands and im really pleased that I was working, focusing on Rimmel, as I think this allowed me to open up a new style that I was unsure on achieving. My favourite image out of all of my five Beauty Looks was the blue Eyeliner look. I feel that this one looks most like a Rimmel Campaign and the outcome of the final image was just how I had first imagined it, if not better.

My least favourite image out of my five looks is the smokey eye look against the red background. I like the make-up and the idea of this shoot, but I think that I should have chosen a model with a hair colour that contrasts nicely with red, rather than a model that also had Red hair.  I had shot this image previously with a different model, although the SD card was temporarily misplaced and so I re-shot it using with a different design and idea. I think that if I were to use the first model with the second idea then this shoot would have been more perfectly dramatic. Never the less I am still pleased with the final outcome, and this idea is something that I can consider for future preference.

Overall I feel that I my Make-up, Hair and Photography skills have improved immensely during this project and I am positive that I have found a career path that I have a passion for; the Fashion and Beauty Industry.

Final Beauty Look 5: EyeLiner, Eyebrow, Eyelash Incorporated Look...

This shoot is by far my favourite out of my five Beauty looks. I love the colours that I have used, the shape of the eyeliner and the styling. I feel that I really tried hard to create a perfect image that resembles a Rimmel Campaign Shoot. I thought about the shape of the brows and about how dramatic I made them. I wanted to create a nice shape with them without creating too much drama, as the main focus is intended to be the eyeliner. The two shades of blue work so well together creating some sort of depth into the lines. I feel that the back drop to this shoot was a perfect idea, using both pink and pastle blue in order to really compliment my work on the face. I have incorporated lashes to this look, but decided on cutting my lashes in half, using only half at the outer corners of the eyelids to give emphasis to the eyes. For the hair I decided on an up-do as I didn't want any distractions from the make-up.

Final Beauty Look 4: A Metallic Look...

For this look I chose to shoot outside again as I felt this way the metallic make-up would show up on the camera the best. I have had troubles in the past using my Illamasqua Liquid Metal products before in the studios, and the shot having to be taken from an awkward angle in order to tell that the make-up is in fact metallic. I went for this Blue/Silver shade on the eyes once gathering research from Rimmel's past shoots and I am really pleased with the final outcome.

Final Beauty Look 3: A Smokey Eye...

I am really pleased with the end result of this look as I think it really looks like a Rimmel inspired look. I decided to choose to do a dark smokey eye to create something different to the rest of my beauty images as they are all quite bright. Something that Rimmel are recognisable for is their coloured backgrounds, which is something that I have considered on this look. I did a couple of test shoots using a black background and also took a few images outside on location to see what would work best. I am happy with the colour that I have chosen as it works well with Sara's Red hair. I wanted to keep her tattoo seen in this look as my aim was to create a young, Contemporary look, in which I think that this fits the criteria as almost every young adult owns a tattoo somewhere on their body!
I feel that Sara's teeth worked perfectly, as my brand is based on Rimmel I have put a lot of research into their ambasidors, and Georgia May Jagger is most well known for her distinct unique teeth. This is something that I really wanted to embrace.

Final Beauty Image 2: A Perfect Lip...

For my 'Perfect Lip' shoot, I have used Bianca as a model, creating a Pink Ombre effect on her amazing lips. The Lip turned out even with a perfect sharp line around the whole of her lips. I didn't do much with her hair apart from taming it and straightening it to make it look more flat and sleek than in a tight Afro. I found this quite challenging as I've not had much practice on Black Afro Caribbean hair, although this is something that I will definitely practice more with from now on.
I am really happy with the overall outcome of this shoot and I am happy that I decided to shoot this look outside as the natural lighting created a really clean, fresh effect.
For the head shot image, I have used the white buildings in the background like how I planned which I am thrilled turned out the way I planned it too. For the Profile shot I have been inspired by Kate Moss's Rimmel shoot where she stands in front of a Red brick wall. If I were to do this shoot again I think that I would re-consider the background choice as it's not exactly how I has imagined it to look. Next time I would take in to consideration the type of brick wall as I think an older scruffier wall would have looked more effective on camera.
